Matchday Report - By Jack Hurley
Heath won the toss and elected to field on a hot day.
HABCC found it tough going at the start, scoring at just 2 over. At 32-3 Beechey and Rhodes were at the crease and put on a handy 48 between them. With he ball shooting through and popping off a length we knew 120 would be a good score. Beechey was out for 25, Rhodes 18. Some hitting from Downes 22 and Farooq 18 HABCC set Heath 139 to win.
HABCC started brightly taking the top 3 for just 9 runs between them. Skipper Finch came to the crease and set the tone, clipping a couple of great 4's away.
Beechey kept his bowling tight and was rewarded with figures of 10-2-22-3. With Walker seemingly picking wickets up for fun, Heath were 52-7. Finch still at the crease stuck to his guns and hit out causing panic amongst the HABCC fielders. Then up steps birthday boy Walker to bowl arguably the worst slower ball cobbler of his life to bowl finch and effectively take the game. Heath bowler out for 101.
Walker 10-3-44-4, Downes wrapping the game up nicely with 2.1-0-2-2. Farooq grabbed a wicket too and Gayan finished with crazy figures of 7-4-6-0.
A great win.
