Havering entertained a team of past players for this annual get-together.
With the pitch very wet and unable to take too much more rain, Havering batted first and got off to a steady
start with Tom Mitchell (20) continuing the form of the day before. Wickets fell at regular intervals thanks to the
accurate bowling of Simon Jeffries and Mike Parsons. Ryan Hurley (37) and Jack Hurley (27) helped boost the score on a
difficult pitch and Havering were all out for 173 in 34.2 overs. Simon Jeffries (3-22), Mark Chinnery (2-38) and Tony
Pierce (2-27) were the main wicket-takers with Mike Parsons and Glen Robbins taking one each.
Mark Taylor took 4 very smart stumpings.
The rain then came down and there was a further delay. However, when play re-started, conditions were not ideal and it was
difficult for both batsmen and bowlers. Havering resorted to spin from the start with Andy Mitcheson and Kyle Butler
taking one wicket each and restricting the score. Only Tony Pierce (20) make any runs as the Old Boys soon found themselves
tooking down the barrel at 45-5 in 14 overs. However Simon Jeffries (23n/o) and Andy Skinner (19n/o) both struck out to
start to turn the tables until the rain returned to ultimately win the day with the Old Boys on 96-5 in 21 overs.
Mick Houghton (2-28) was the main wicket-taker with Andy Mitcheson, Kyle Butler and Jack Hurley taking 1 wicket each.
Match abandoned due to rain and unfit pitch

Havering entertained Premier Division Bentley in the Village Cup. Bentley won the toss and elected to Bat first.
After a great start from new recruit Andrew Mitchieson with the wicket of S.Coleman, Bentley were scoring at over 6 runs
per over, however Havering continued to bowl wicket taking deliveries and hold their catches. A good knock from P.Coleman
(44) steadied the ship but when he was caught off Luke Dyerson, Bentley were in trouble 144 for 9 with Havering dreaming
of bowling out their premier counterparts for less than 150, however some lusty blows from L.Purford helped Bentley up to
185 all out. This was still an incredible performance from Havering. Luke Dyerson 3-31, Michael Richardson 3-40 and Andrew
Mitchieson 2-33 were the pick of the bowlers.
In reply, Havering started well and were 34 before the first wicket fell but unfortunately Havering lost wickets at
similar intervals to Bentley and were struggling at 73 for 7. A cracking partnership from Reece Beechey and Andrew
Mitchieson (32) of 71 runs put Havering right back in the running. When Reece was out, caught at square leg, and Ben
Leworthy ran himself out, Havering were 148 for 9 still needing 38 more runs to win. Luke Dyerson came in and put on a
fantastic 24 with Andrew before Coleman bowled Andrew and Havering fell agonisingly short. A fantastic effort from
Havering, which bodes very well for the season ahead. Reece Beechey top scored with a glorious 53 that including some
magnificent sixes over deep mid on.
Bentley won by 13 Runs
