Havering 2nd XI suffered a heavy loss on Saturday to Rankins 2nd XI who needed to win to gain promotion.
Having won the toss Havering batted first and got off to a slow but steady start scoring 23 off the first 10 overs.
The scoring rate remained slow throughout the innings due to some fine accurate bowling by Rankins. Tim Bland scored 35
at the top of the order and John French hit an impressive 34 batting at number 3. Russell Harley scored a quick 32 not
out at the end to bring the Havering innings to a close on 190 for 8 off 45 overs.
Havering were missing one or two regular bowlers and soon found the going very tough as Rankins lost their first wicket
at 159. The only other wicket fell with the score on 183 as Rankins eased to victory scoring 192 for 2 off 32.4 overs.
Tom Hine was the only wicket taker for Havering with figures of 2 for 74 off 9.4 overs.
Havering lost by 8 Wkts but avoided relegation due to Aythorpe Roding also losing heavily

Havering 2nd XI suffered a heavy defeat away to Aythorpe Roding on Saturday in a game they were expecting to win.
On a low slow pitch Aythorpe Roding scored a useful 197 for 8 off their 45 overs. Opening bowler Tom Hine picked up 3
wickets for 47 runs off 11 overs, but the star performance for Havering was from Steve Summerville who returned figures
of 4 for 35 off 12 overs including a hat-trick.
In reply, Havering never got going due to some fine accurate bowling by Aythorpe. The visitors soon found themselves in
trouble at 25 for the loss of 3 wickets. Tom Gentle batting at 6 scored a useful 29 in the middle of the innings but the
rest of the Havering batsmen gave their wickets away. Havering were bowled out for a very disappointing 115.
Havering lost by 82 runs.

Havering 2nd XI secured a 4 wicket victory away to Bluehouse on Saturday in a match reduced to 32 overs per side.
Bluehouse won the toss and decided to bat first. After their 32 overs they scored 132 for 5. The pick of the Havering
bowlers was Matt Lanagan with figures of 2 for 22 off 7 overs.
In reply Havering made slow progress in reaching the target. Two middle order batsman Sean Jackson 24 and Kevin
Stanbridge 25 helped to increase the run rate after it looked likely to be a very close finish. However, Kevin Thain was
the real hero for Havering batting at number 3 scoring a slow but match winning innings of 49 not out.

Havering 2nd XI suffered a heavy loss at home on Saturday to Billericay St John.
Billericay St John batted first and raced to 78 without loss off the opening 12 overs. However, some tight bowling by Ian
Connerly and Ryan Hurley managed to reduce the run rate and Ryan Hurley in particular bowled a good line and length, and
in doing so dismissed both openers in quick succession. However, further wickets were hard to come by although Tom Hine
bowled well when he returned to the attack picking up 2 late wickets to restrict the visitors to 216 for 5 off their 45
overs. Havering were delighted with the bowling and fielding performance because they could have easily been chasing 270
to 300.
Unfortunately, Havering had a number of their front line batsman missing and were always struggling to get anywhere near
the required total. Ryan Hurley put up a brave performance with the bat and was last man out for a fine 63 but Havering
had only managed to score a very disappointing 129 all out in reply.

Havering 2nd XI managed to secure an easy victory away to bottom of the table Hocley.
Hockley won the toss and decided to bat first on a green wicket. Some fine bowling by Michael Rowe (4-14) and Kevin
Stanbridge (3-8) restricted Hockley to a very low score of 63 all out off 36.4 overs.
Havering reached the required total off just 18.5 overs scoring 64 for 5 wickets. The highlight of the innings was Wicket
keeper Russell Harley who was promoted to open the innings scoring a fine 31 before he was dismissed.

Havering 2nds were at home to Great Baddow 2nds on Saturday and having won the toss Havering decided to bat first.
Havering were soon in trouble at 36 for 2 due to some fine accurate bowling by the visitors. However, a 3rd wicket stand
of 150 between Tim Bland (91) and Jack Hurley (68 not out) helped Havering to a very respectable total of 235 for 6 after
45 overs.
Havering had a decent bowling attack and were fairly confident of achieving a victory. Unfortunately, Great Baddows
batsmen had other ideas and took the Havering attack apart hitting the ball to all parts of the ground. After just 27.7
overs Great Baddow had reached their target scoring 237 for 1.
Havering had lost by 9 wickets.
Havering 4 points Great Baddow 23 points.
Havering travelled to Hullbridge following two straight wins. Tim Bland won the toss and elected to bowl first on a soft
wicket which had a reputation for low scores. Haverings opening bowler Jack Hurley managed to take 2 wickets early on to
reduce the home side to 31 for 2 but due to some big hitting in the middle order and helped by 2 or 3 dropped catches,
Hullbridge were always on the front foot and posted a total of 197 for 8 off their 45 overs. Tom Hine was the pick of
Haverings bowlers with figures of 2 for 24 off 12 overs. Also Steve Summerville bowled well taking 2 for 34.
In reply, Havering were always struggling against some accurate bowling and were dismissed for a very disappointing 95
off 33 overs.
Havering lost by 102 runs.

Havering 2nd XI travelled to Rankins who were top of the League. Havering won the toss and decided to bat and what looked
a good batting pitch. However, due to some excellent bowling by Rankins they were restricted to just 56 for the loss of 3
wickets off 22 overs. Opener Dave Keylock was still at the crease and managed to improve the scoring before he was out
for a hard fought 64. Dan Keylock managed 20 but everyone else struggled and Havering could only manage a very
disappointing total of 136 all out off 41.1 overs.
Haverings opening bowlers Michael Richardson and Michael Roe started superbly making runs very difficult to come by.
Michael Roe in particular bowled a fine opening spell taking 4 for 36 off his opening 7 overs. Rankins staged a minor
recovery before the 2 opening bowlers returned to reduce the home side to 110 for 8. Michael Roe finished with figures of
5 for 52 off 12 overs and Michael Richardson 2 for 27 off 12 overs. With Rankins creeping to victory it was left to
spinner Ryan Hurley to take the remaining 2 wickets and Rankins were bowled out for 126.

Havering 2nds scored a comfortable win at home to Aythorpe Roding II. Skipper Tim Bland won the toss and invited the
visitors to bat on a wet wicket after heavy overnight rain. It proved a good toss to win as Jack Hurley bowled the opener
with the first ball of the second over and was followed by Michael Roe, making his debut for the second team this season,
who bowled the other opener in his second over to leave the visitors reeling on 3-2. Both opening bowlers continued to
bowl tightly and Roe was particularly impressive as his first spell of 7 overs cost only 5 runs. Visitor skipper Anderson
was eventually out for a stubborn 59 well caught by Colin Burton at point off Tim Richardsons 3rd ball and when Farr was
well run out by Neil Keylock for 46, a tricky partnership of 103 was over and the visitors had to rebuild against tight
bowling. Richardson bowled Elsworth and finished with figures of 8-0-29-2, Andy Dent picked up one wicket for 46 from his
11 overs, Jack Hurleys figures were 1-30 off 9 overs and the highly impressive Roe returned to finish with figures of
1-20 off 12 overs. By the end of their 45 overs, Aythorpe had managed 173-6.
As the heat began to increase, the wicket dried out and proved more unpredictable as Havering lost opener Tim Bland to a
lifting ball caught behind for 13 with the score on 23. David Keylock then joined father Neil Keylock in a partnership of
46 before he was well caught and bowled for 15. John French then joined the in-form Keylock senior and the two veterans
proceeded to put on 104 before Keylock was bowled for 84 including 11 fours and 2 sixes, his third fifty of the season.
French was left not out on 48 as Havering coasted home with 6 overs to spare losing only 3 wickets in the process.

The weather ruined what was building up to a potentially interesting finish as Havering 2nds were frustrated when they
took on Bluehouse at Broxhill Road in Division 6. Put in to bat with rain threatening and after a short shower had reduced
the game to 43 overs per side, Havering made a steady start before they lost Tim Bland with the score on 36. Fellow
opener Neil Keylock increased the tempo and scored an impressive 61 whilst top order wickets fell cheaply at the other
end. However with half the innings gone Havering were 87-4 as Keylock departed. Strong hitting from Kevin Stanbridge (12)
and Andy Dent (20) supported a run a ball knock from Tim Richardson (48) as the middle order brought the total to a
respectable 186 all out from the 43 overs.
The visitors got off to a slow start against some tight bowling from Andy Dent (8-4-17-0) and Steve Summerville (10-2-32-2)
and it was Summerville who struck first having opposition skipper well caught by Dave Keylock for 25 with the score on 45
in the 17th over. Summerville then trapped the other opener with the score on 59 and when Tom Hine bowled an unplayable
pacey ball that had Lovatt caught by keeper Williams, the visitors were struggling on 81-3 and behind the run rate. Some
fine shots by Pegg were pointing towards a good finish when the heavens opened and washed the game out.
The result still leaves Havering second from bottom, just below Bluehouse

Havering 2nd XI played away against Billericay St John and lost by a margin of 37 runs on a soft, slow pitch that
offered very little help to the bowlers. St Johns Billericay batted first and scored an impressive 232 for 7 off 45
overs. Kevin Stanbridge was the pick of the Havering bowlers taking 3 for 53 off 12 overs.
In reply Havering got off to a slow but steady start with both openers making useful scores, Tim Bland scored 48 and
John French 32. Havering unfortunately lost their way in the middle of their innings and were always well behind the
required rate. However, a late surge helped take the total to a respectable 195 for 5 wickets off 45 overs with some fine
batting by Jack Hurley (36) and Tim Richardson (30 not out).

Havering 2nd XI managed to secure their first win of the season beating Hockley 2nd XI by 6 wickets. After a fast start
by Hockley that took them to 52 off the opening 9 overs, the Havering bowlers found their line and length and begun to
take a grip on the game. Havering restricted Hockley to 186 all out off the final over of the innings. Kevin Stambride
taking 5 for 36 off 12 overs was the pick of the bowlers but he was supported well by Andy Dent and Steve Summerville who
also bowled economical spells.
On a good pitch, fast outfield and Hockley only having 9 players, Havering easily reached their target scoring 188 for 4
wickets with Tim Bland scoring 45, Neil Keylock 31 and Dave Keylock returning to form scoring an unbeaten 51.

Havering made slow but steady progress reaching 97 when they lost their first wicket after 25 overs. Unfortunately, this
started a mini collapse with 4 further wickets falling for just 20 runs. However, the late order managed to push the
total to a respectable 194 for 9 off 45 overs. The batsman to make a score of note were the 2 openers Tim Bland making 33
and Neil Keylock scoring 68.
This was always going to be a difficult score to defend on a good batting pitch and Haverings bowlers found the going
tough from the start. Great Baddow were always in control and they secured victory in just 33 overs scoring 198 for the
loss of just 2 wickets.

No Game as Ashingdon have withdrawn from the league.
Havering were put into bat on a very difficult wicket and were always going to struggle to post a good score against some
steady bowling. Only 3 batsman made scores of any note, Neil Keylock 27, Kyle Butler 30 and John French who held the
innings together with a hard fought 41. After 45 overs Havering had scored 177 for 9 off their 45 overs.
Unfortunately, Haverings bowlers were unable to find their line and length making runs easy to come by for Foulness.
The home side eased past the Havering total for the loss of 5 wickets and their number 3 batsman Shahaz scored a superb
92 not out and never really looked in any trouble.
Havering 2nd XI have suffered 2 heavy losses in their first 2 matches but are confident they will improve over the coming
weeks.

Havering 2nds got off to the worst start possible in their first season in Division 6 with a heavy defeat at the hands of
recently relegated Hullbridge. Poor fielding proved costly as Hullbridge opener Flynn smashed an uncultured but effective
80 having been dropped on 30. This was followed by further spilled catches including one off Ricky Shepherd when he had
scored only 25 and who went on to hit 7 sixes on his way to an unbeaten 116. Luck was not with the Havering attack as
edge after edge went between fielders and Hullbridge amassed an imposing 302-3 off their 45 overs. A wicket each for Tom
Hine who was the pick of the bowlers, Steve Summerville and Tim Richardson.
Facing such a daunting total and hoping for quick runs at the start of the innings, acting Captain Tim Richardson sent in
Kevin Stanbridge to open the innings with Neil Keylock. But Hullbridge quicky Grange was unplayable on an increasingly
lively track and Havering never looked like getting a good start and keeping up with the run chase. Wickets fell at
regular intervals until Colin Burton hit an impressive 65 ably supported by James Lavender (14) and Ollie Williams (17).
In the end it was left to Ollie Williams and Tim Richardson to claim one batting point as Havering struggled to reach
167-6 off their 45 overs.
