Havering-atte-Bower held an inter-club game at Broxhill road against mainly 3rd eleven and 4th eleven the teams were celebrating the third eleven being promoted to Division Ten in the T.Rippon league and being awarded the Len Menhinick Trophy for being the top team in the sportsmanship league for 2009. Thats top of 120 teams for Sportsmanship in the TRippon League.
The skippers tossed up and Mick Houghton won, so he invited Clive Tickner's 3rd XI to bat. Andrew Dent(19) and Andy Hurley(13) opened the batting as Colin Gentle and Reece Beechey started off the 4th XI bowling. The first wicket fell when Michael Roe came on to bowl, with Andy Hurley being caught behind. Mark Chinnery(4) was Michael's second victim & Jack Hurley(5) followed when caught & bowled Michael. Wickets fell frequently with only skipper Clive Tickner(15) put up any real resistance as the 3rd XI were bowled out for 111 in the 37th over. Michael Roe 4-1-6-3, Mick Houghton 5-0-25-3, Les Walker 3.4-2-6-2, Jack Houghton 4-1-11-1 & Tom Sandberg 4-1-10-1 were the wicket takers for the 4ths
The 4ths opened up with MichaelRoe (15) and David Roe (4). Dave was out first with the score on 16. Reece Beechey(34no) joined Michael, who was next out with the score on 26. Luke Dyerson(0) did not trouble the scorers but Jack Houghton(32no) joined Reece who took the 4ths home, 112 for the loss of only 3 wickets in the 24th over. Tom Hine 6-1-17-2, Andrew Dent 5-1-20-1 were the wicket-takers.

A combination of 3rd/4ths captained by Mick Houghton played a friendly against Rayleigh Fairview at Broxhill Road
Mick lost the toss and was asked to bat. Havering opened with Andrew Dent(0) and Nick Hine(68). Andrew was caught behind in the second over. Tom Gentle (9) was out with the score on 27. Michael Roe(11) followed bowled by Felstead & Dave Roe(22) also bowled by Felstead with the score on 88. Meanwhile Nick was at the other end scoring freely. Atul Bhatt(48) joined Nick and both played some good shots. They were 2 short of a 100 partnership when Atul was out with the score on 188. Nick followed and the whole team was out for 205 in the 40th over.
In reply, Havering opened the bowling with Andrew Dent and Tom Hine. Andrew bowled the first two wickets and Tom Hine followed with the third as Rayleigh Fairview were three down with only 43 on the board. Osbourne(67) and Warren(84)then scored at will. Michael Roe and Luke Dyerson took a wicket each. Rayleigh scored 207 for 5 wickets in the 30th over. Andrew Dent 8-0-47-2, Tom Hine 5-0-27-1, Michael Roe 8-1-63-1, Luke Dyerson 7-0-55-1, Jack Gale 2-0-8-0.

Following the end of the league season Mick Houghton skippered a combined 3rd/4th eleven against Redbridge Parks at London playing fields. Mick won the toss and decided to bowl first. Redbridge opened with Vivek(24) and Hamza(58) Havering opened with Andrew Dent and Tom Hine, & Hamza (58) gave three chances before being caught by Mick Houghton off of Andrew with the score on 82. Kurwar was then out scond ball. Tom Gentle replaced Tom Hine and was soon amongst the wickets. Colin Gentle replaced Andrew at the other end and took a wicket in his first over caught by Jack Gale while Omar(88) was scoring at the other end. Redbridge ended their 40 overs on 265 for 8 wickets. Andrew Dent 2-38, Colin Gentle 2-42 were the pick of the bowlers.
Havering opened with Emma Honey(4) and Andrew Dent(17). Emma was caught and bowled in the 4th over with the score on 8. Craig Bourne(19) joined Andrew but Andrew was next out with the score on 33. Tom Gentle(40) batted well but Craig was out with the score on 72. Jack Gale(13) followed but was soon out. The tail wagged with Nick Hine(13), Colin Gentle(18no) and skipper Mick Houghton(8) but Havering were bowled out for 155. Redbrige Parks won by110 runs.
Skipper, Clive Tickner, lost his last league toss of the year and Havering were invited to bat first. They opened with regular openers Andrew Dent(47) and Nick Hine(40) back from a weeks holiday. Nick was refreshed and started to hit out from the start. With Andrew doing the same from the other end, they put on 103 for the first wicket off of only 22 overs when Andrew was caught. Mark Butler(31) came out and the score moved on Nick was out, caught. Tom Gentle(45) and moved the score on as Havering finished their 45 overs with a score of 230 for 5.
Havering opened with Andrew Dent and Tom Hine. Andrew had Choski (6) caught by Mark Butler off the 4th ball. Butcher(30) moved the score on until he was caugth by Mark Chinnery off the bowling of Baily. Beevers(47) then came to the wicket but regulaly lost partners at the other end and Wickham were all out for 181 the 40th over Havering won by 49 runs. Havering end up second and are promoted after only the second year in div 11 of the TRippon league. Havering-atte-Bower 3rd eleven went to Eastwood having already gained promotion from Division Eleven and with a side comproising of mainly forth eleven players due to holidays. Captain Clive Tickner won the toss and elected to Bat. Havering opened with Andrew Dent(9) and Emma Honey(4) & Emma was run out. Dave Roe(0) did not last long and Andrew followed caught behind. Oliver Williams(31) and Bradley Tollon(18) put on 60 for the 4th wicket. Ollie was out and Havering lost two more quick wickets. Michael Roe(57no) joined Bradley and they put on 32 before Bradley was bowled. Havering lost two more wickets when Les Walker(15no) helped Michael to bring the Havering total to 179 for 8 wickets. This was Michaels first 50 in league cricket.
Havering opened with Andrew Dent and Michael Roe who got the early wicket caught by his dad Dave at slip. Byford(31) came to the wicket and he and Robinson (32) put on 50 for the second wicket when Robinson was caught by Dave Roe off Andrew Dent. Andrew took two more wickets. Mick Houghton and Mitchel Walker bowled spin from both ends and took wickets but by this time Morrant(41) was pushing the score along and Eastwood were coming closer to the score required. Michael Roe came back into the attack and bowled Morrant. Eastwood then lost their last two wickets and were all out for 171. Havering won by 8 runs. Andrew Dent 12 overs 3-55, Michael Roe 8 overs 2-21, Mick Houghton 9 overs 1-33, Mitchel Walker 8 overs 2-38 & Mark Chinnery 4.2 overs 1-24 were the wicket takers.

Captain Clive Tickner lost the toss and was asked to bowl. Havering opened the bowling with the usual pairing of Andrew Dent and Tom Hine, Andrew struck first this week with the score on 22 Impey was bowled. Lenox(4) did not last long as he was also bowled Andy. Hall Snr (34) came to the wicket and with the score on 38 Andy Dent took his third wicket caught by Oliver Williams behind the stumps. Michael Roe bowled well but did not take any wickets. Mitchel Walker took over from Andrew and in his second over was also among the wickets. Tom came back in the 32nd over with the score on 98 for 7 four overs later it was all over for Rayleigh, all out for 102 in the 36th over. Andrew Dent 12 overs 4-34, Tom Hine 7.3 overs 3-10, and Mitchel Walker 6 overs 2-14 were the pick of the bowlers.
Havering had 54 overs to get the 103 runs needed for victory. Andrew Dent(17) and Tim Richardson(65 no) got off to a flying start until Andrew was bowled with the score on 68. Nick Hine(12 no) helped Tim get the required runs in the 19th over for the loss of 1 wicket.

Havering captain Clive Tickner won the toss and decided to bat first. He opened with Nick Hine(41) and Andrew Dent(25) who put on 63 in 17 overs before Andrew was caught. Tim Hills hit a quick 21 before being bowled with the score on 92. Nick followed 3 overs later when Andy Mortimer(23) and Mark Butler(24) came together and the score moved on to 153 for 3 in the 37th over. Things were looking good but with the score on 154 Havering lost 3 quick wickets and although they lasted the 45 overs could only reach 177 all out.
Havering opened the bowling with Andrew Dent and Tom Hine. Andrew took the wicket of Bowers in the first over with no score Walker(78) came to the wicket. The opening pair were unlucky and when Tom finished his first spell Wakering were 35 for 1 off 10 overs. Mitchel Walker came on for Tom but did not take a wicket. Andy Mortimer bowled a tight spell but still no wickets. Havering took their second wicket when the score was on 170 when Melvin Wallace took a catch off the bowling of Atul Bhatt but Wakering won by 8 wickets in the 35th over.

Captain Clive Tickner won the toss and asked Old Chelmsfordians to bat first. Andrew Dent and Tom Hine opened the bowling and the first wicket went down in the 6th over with the score on 7 with 4 maidens being bowled in the first six overs. By the 18th over only 37 runs had been scored and the teams had to come off for rain. The rain stopped after 18 minuetes with the loss of 6 overs. Mitchel Walker replaced Andrew and in his second over took a wicket and he continued to take wickets throughout and finished with 5-32 off 11 overs. Tom Hine (3-12) came back in the 38th over and cleaned up the tail.Only one wicket fell to a catch all others were bowled. Old Chelmsfordians were all out for 126.
Nick Hine(0) and Andrew Dent(30) opened the batting but Nick fell with the score on 1 one kept low. Oliver Williams was caught for 30 with the score on 58. Michael Lazenby(1) was soon back in the pavilion but when Mark Butler(24 no) joined Andrew, they moved the score onto 80 in the 18th over when the rain brought the teams off. After about 20 minutes they resumed and Andrew was out lbw. Mark Chinnery(no 16) took Havering through to the finish as Havering won in the 25th over by 6 wickets.

Havering skipper Clive Tickner lost the toss and was asked to bat. Havering opened with Nick Hine(15) and Andrew Dent(53) who put on 51 for the first wicket. Mark Butler(1) was bowled for 1.Tom Gentle(59) joined Andy and the score started to more along with Andrew and Tom hitting some good shots. Andrew was next out with the score on 108. Jack Houghton(0) was next out, not troubling the scorer. Andy Mortimer(34) and Tom pushed on again but Havering then lost some quick wickets. Clive Tickner(7no) and Colin Gentle(11no) saw the 45 overs out bring the score to 203 for 8.
With this inning under his belt skipper Clive has not been out since the 23rd of May.

Jack Houghton replaced Tom and had Adlum the opener caughtt, Spooner(10) was struggling against Jack and was caught by Mark Chinnery close in. Freeman(22) and Winterflood(14) moved the score along but Colin Gentle took three wickets. The Hine and Gentle father and son duo both had a good day with bat and ball. St John were all out for 102.

Havering welcomed Rankins 3rds to Upminster Hall Lane. Clive Tickner won the toss and elected to field. Rankins opened with Farther and son P Nolde(1) and W Nolde(2) Havering opened its bowling with Andrew Dent and Tom Hine, Tom took the first wicket with the last ball of the second over, P Nolde was bowled with the score on 7. His son was lbw to Andrew Dent four balls later with the score still on 7. Patel(3) and Pickering(20) were now at the wicket when Patel went for a big swing off of Dents bowling and was caught by Tim Hills.Tom took two more wickets one a super catch by Michael Lazenby in the slips. The skipper took a catch off of Andrews bowling and Rankins were 35 for 6. Mark Chinnery replaced Tom Hine and caught and bowled Tower(15) as he was starting to open up. Rankins were 40 for 8. Two more wickets fell and Rankins were 55 for 9 in the 20th over when Mayhew(11) and Lynch(9no) came to the wicket. They put on 27 runs and lasted 15 overs before Tom Hine returned and bowled Mayhew. Rankins were all out for 82 in the 35th over. Andrew Dent and Tom Hine were pick of the bowlers with 4 wickets each, and Mark Chinnery took 2.
In reply, Havering opened with Andrew Dent(15) and Ryan Hurley(15) who put on 30 for the first wicket. When Ryan was caught Tim Hills(45no) came to the wicket and moved the score along. Andrew was bowled with the score on 50 Michael Lazenby(0) did not trouble the scorer Tom Gentle(2) followed and supported Tim who hit 3 sixes and 5 fours in his 45. Havering hit the winning runs in the 21st over and were 84 for 3. winning by 7 wickets.

Havering Captain Clive Tickner lost the toss this week and was asked to bat. Havering opened with Nick Hine(7) and Andrew Dent(0). Andrew was bowled with the score on 3 when Colin Burton (16) came to the wicket. Nick and Colin batted for nine overs and only 15 runs when Nick was out with the score on 18. Eddie Wallace(66) came in and he with Colin put on 43 but when the score was 61, Colin was caught behind. Atul Bhatt joined Eddie and the two put on 50 for the next wicket until Atul (20) was out lbw. Havering were now moving the score along Jack Houghton(10) and Ben Leworthy(9) were both quickly out but Andy Mortimer(39no) and James Lavender(9no) joined forces with the score was on 164. James batted well in a supporting role. Andy and James took the Havering score to 234 for 7 wickets.
Havering opened the bowling with the usual pair Andrew Dent who had Fillery caught by Nick Hine after 3 balls with the score on 2. Tom Hine opened at the other end and opened his account bowling Hullbridge skipper Palmer for 3 in the 8th over with the score on 25.Tom then had the number 4 Stephens caught behind for 1 with the score on 34. Ben Leworthy replaced Tom and took the wicket of Pocock for 5. Meanwhile at the other end McMeekin was getting on with the job. He and Jervis(21) moved the score along hitting Ben for 4 fours in one over. Ben hit back two overs later bowling Jervis with the score 99. Havering used three other bowlers Jack Houghton, Atul Bhatt and Andy Mortimer who took the wicket of McMeekin in his second over. Hullbridge were bowled out for 135 in the 35 over. Havering won by 99 runs. Atul Bhatt took 3 wickets with Ben Leworthy, Tom Hine and Andy Mortimer 2 each.

Havering Third Eleven played third placed Gt Baddow III at home. Clive Tickner won the toss and asked Baddow to bat. Havering opening bowlers were Andrew Dent and Tom Hine. Tom took the first wicket with the score on 30 when Wigley (16) was bowled. Taylor (38) was dropped on 3 and again gave a chance when on 12. Andrew took the second wicket of Smith (5) with the score on 52. Ben Leworthy took over from Tom from the the barn end and he took two wickets in his 5th over Tayor being one of these who was caught by Tim Hills. Baddow were 73 for 5 when Warner-Denny (32) and Bartram (7) came to the wicket and they put on 30 when Bartram was out bowled by Neil Keylock. Tom Hine returned and bowled Warner-Denny. Baddow were all out for 131 runs in the 37th over. Ben Leworthy took 4-40, Tom Hine 2-26 and Andrew Dent, Mark Chinnery and Neil Keylock one wicket each.
The Havering innings was opened with Andrew Dent (23) and Mark Butler (25) who put on 57 before Mark was caught, Tim Hills (12) hit three quick fours before he was also caught with the score on 77. Neil Keylock (26n/o) and the score moved on to 100 before Andrew was bowled. Colin Burton scored 10 and Nick Hine followed being bowled for 0 from a ball he left. Skipper Clive Tickner saw the team home with Neil in the 32nd over. Havering finished on 134 for 5. Havering remain 2nd 34 points clear of third place Hullbridge who we play away next week.

Havering-atte-Bower went to Beaulieu Park in Chelmsford to play Wickham who are in the chasing pack along with Havering for the second spot in Division 11. Skipper Clive Tickner won the toss and invited Wickham to bat. Andrew Dent and Tom Hine opened the bowing. Wickham opened with their Bluehouse pair Richard and Robert Hunt. They made a steady start and were 36 in the 11th over when Andrew made the break through bowling Richard Hunt. Ben Leworthy took over from Tom Hine and bowled a good line and length taking 3 wickets for only 24 runs with 6 maidens in his 12 over spell. Andy Mortimer took over at the other end and took the wicket of the other opener Robert Hunt who was on 41 and had been dropped when on 21. Jack Houghton came on and took a quick wicket making Wickham 73 for 4. Youngman came in and made a quick 32 and the score was moving along. Wickham were keen to get to 200 and not give Havering any overs as Williams came to the crease and hit out when Andrew Dent came back taking the wicket of Williams for 18. Butcher then hit a quick 29 as a thunderstorm threatened to close the innings but for Tom Hine who returned and took 3 wickets in nine balls to finish off the tail. Wickham had scored 183 all out in 44 overs.
During tea the rain came down but only lasted a short time so after a short delay Havering started their innings. Andrew Dent opened with Mark Butler & Andrew (14) was caught with the score on 19 and Neil Keylock (24) put on 50 with Mark before being caught. Ben Leaworthy (11) and Andy Mortimer (13) followed Neil. Havering were 115 for 4 when Jack Houghton came to the wicket after last weeks performance with the ball it was Jacks turn with the bat he and Mark finished off not out scoring the winning runs in the 42nd over. Mark finished 66 not out and Jack 39 not out just before the storm returned. Havering won by 6 wickets and stay in 2nd spot in division 11.

When Andy Mortimer took over from Tom, he quickly bowled Belcher (30). Two run-outs helped Haverings cause followed by another wicket by Andy Mortimer to reduce the home side to 53-4. Jack Houghton bowled 4 very tidy overs 1-5 and Ryan Hurley & Mark Chinnery finished off the innings at 107 inside 42 overs.
Andrew Dent fell cheaply early on in the Havering reply, but Mark Butler (51) and Matthew Khan (18) batted well until Matthew was bowled. Atul Bhatt gave fine support until Mark Butler was caught, but the game was almost over by that stage. The skipper helped see his side home with 5 wickets and 15 overs to spare.

Havering 3rds continued there winning run to 4 games after an 8 wicket win over Old Chelmsfordians IV. Havering won the toss and put Old Chelmsfordians into bat, some fine bowling throughout the innings from Andy Dent 5-23, Ben Leworthy 2-19, Tom Hobborough 2-4 and Ryan Hurley 1-13 reduced Old Chelmsfordians to 77 all out.
In reply Havering lost Nick Hine with the score on 19 then a partnership of 41 between Andy Dent and Mark Chinnery put on 41 as Havering took control before Mark was caught in the deep which left Andy Dent and Atul Bhatt to finish things off with Andy finishing 49 Not out.

Havering continued their winning streak of 3 games by beating St John's Billericay II by 106 runs at Hall Lane. Havering Lost the toss and were put into bat but posted a score of 216 - 8 in their allotted 45 overs. Opener Andy Dent scored a solid 57 before he was eventually run out, Math Khan scored a quick fire 26 before being trapped LBW and then a fine 57 not out from Mark Chinnery pushed the score beyond 200, with the pick of the St Johns bowlers being Cripps 2-39, Emory 3-42 and Brown 1-18.
In reply St John's Billericay were soon in trouble after losing their first 3 wickets with just 41 on the board, but resistance from Fisher (44) pushed their score up to 95 before being bowled. Further wickets fell cheaply before eventually they were bowled out for 110 with Melvin Wallace 5-26, Andy Dent 2-26, Tom Hine 1-4 and Tom Hobborough 1-0 taking the wickets

Rankins batted first and were all out for 113 inside 39 overs as the Havering bowlers kept to their task. Ryan Hurley (4-13), Andrew Mortimer (3-28) and Michael Roe (2-28) were the main wicket-takers.
In reply, Havering got off to a shakey start losing Nick Hine, Andy Dent and Mark Butler with only 16 on the board. Atul Bhatt (43) and Matthew Khan (50 n/o) almost saw their team home before Atul was caught. Havering cruised to a 6 wicket victory in 32 overs.

Havering 3rd eleven had won the toss and put Hullbridge 2nds into bat. Some Tight bowling by Andy Dent (1 for 25 off 12 overs), Tom Hine (1 for 27 off 8 overs), Mark Chinnery (2 for 48 off 10 overs), Ryan Hurley (2 for 19 off 5 overs) and William Waine (1 for 27 off 6 overs) reduced Hullbridge to 180 for 7 after 45 overs.
Havering's reply saw openers Nick Hine and Andy Dent put on 80 runs for the 1st wicket partnership, before Nick was run out for 15. Shortly afterwards Andy was back in the pavilion after being trapped LBW for 26. Two quick wickets fell which bought Mark Chinnery and Mark Butler together and they put on a match winning partnership of 41 to push the score up to 133, Mark Butler was eventually out for 16 and Mark Chinnery fell short of a half century scoring 45 runs. Needing 15 from 5 overs Ryan Hurley 16 and Tom Hine 7 saw Havering over the line with just 9 balls to spare.

Havering batted first and struggled against the tight bowling of Great Baddow. Emma Honey, opening the batting, top scored with 30 before having to retire hurt. She was assisted by Mark Chinnery (23) and Michael Roe (19) as Havering only managed 137-8 in their 45 overs.
In reply, Great Baddow won inside 24 overs with only Andy Dent picking up 2 wickets and Tom Hine & Michael Roe one each.

The opening game of the season saw a 27 run defeat for the 3rd XI against Belhus III. Batting first, Belhus amassed 223-3 in their 40 overs with Andy Dent, Reiss Beechey and Sharif Hasan all picking up one wicket each.
In reply, Mark Chinnery scored 45, Tim Hills 35, Jack Houghton 33 and Tom Gentle 24 as Havering were all out for 196.
