A very disappointing performance against a fairly strong side, especially after what the boys achieved against Hainault & Clayhall in the last game.

Havering matchplay team played away to Hainault & Clayhall. Skipper Jack Houghton lost the toss & Havering asked to field. This was due to a fine spell of bowling from Bradley Tollon taking 4 wickets for 8 runs from his 5 overs. Hainault went to 75 for 8 when the last pair came to together (palyer not delared on team sheet so could only bat with 10). This last pair added 47 to the frustration of Havering. Firstly Jack Gale, top scroed with 24 batting for almost 40 mins. Mitchell Walker was run out for 4 which left the last pair of Tom KIlbey & Bradley Tollon with the score on 96 for 9. Both showed incredible maturity & concentration in difficult circumstances. Tom Kilbey batted for 11 mins short of 2 hours for 19 not out & Bradley Tollon for 50 mins for 12 not out.
Havering won the game by 1 wicket with 14 balls to spare thanks to the fantastic efforts in the lower order.

A very disappointing all-round display. Poor batting followed by wayward erratic bowling, which was the last thing required, especially when defending a small total. The fielding also left a lot to be desired.
